Sourcing & Production

FAQs

Straight answers on sampling, testing, certifications, shipping terms and how to start an order.

As per buyer’s request, we proceed with TOP (Top of Production) samples for their order. Samples are pulled directly from the initial production line run and shared for review and approval prior to bulk production. This ensures bulk fabric shrinkage, color shades, stitch quality, and trim placements match the agreed tech pack specifications.

Testing is tailored to your brand requirements, product specifications, and destination standards. We can submit samples directly to your nominated third-party laboratory, or coordinate testing through our recommended accredited partners, including SGS, Intertek, Bureau Veritas, TÜV SÜD, and QIMA, and deliver complete certified test reports.

Northern Cotton manufacturing facilities and supply chains maintain globally verified credentials including: OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I & II (harmful substance-free); GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) & GRS (Global Recycled Standard); WRAP Gold/Platinum & SEDEX SMETA 4-Pillar (fair labor, safety, ethics); Higg Index (FEM & FSLM) for facility environmental and social assessment.

We uphold zero-tolerance standards on child labor, forced labor, and unfair compensation. All facilities undergo continuous semi-annual independent audits via SEDEX SMETA 4-Pillar and WRAP protocols, enforcing fair living wages, regulated working hours, ergonomic workstations, and comprehensive on-site healthcare safety.

We support all standard Incoterms to fit your supply chain architecture, including FOB (Free On Board), CIF (Cost, Insurance & Freight), and DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) where we handle customs clearance, import documentation, and direct delivery to your distribution center door.

Every order comes with a milestone tracker covering key stages including techpack sign-off, sampling and approval, bulk production start, mid-line quality checks, AQL-based final inspection, and shipment dispatch. We provide regular status updates at each stage, so you always know exactly where your order stands.
